Singular: -l, -le, a
Plural: -i
Masculine nouns ending in consonant
The singular definite article is –l. It is attached with the help of the vowel u.
Pomul din grădină este verde.=The tree from the garden is green.
The plural definite article is attached directly to the noun.
Bărbaţii vin de la muncă.=The men are coming from work.
Masculine nouns ending in palatalized consonant
The singular definite article is –l. It is attached with the help of the vowel u.

Note: In the spoken language we do not always pronounce the article l from the end of the noun. But in the written language it is mandatory to write the “l” at the end of the noun.
