It is time for more vocabulary. I guess there is already a lot of grammar to learn and I guess it is difficult. But don’t worry. If you practice and repeat the things will be less difficult than they are now. That’s what I intend to do right now. In the next lessons you will learn new words and you will have the occasion to repeat the grammar that you learned. Let’s start with a short text:
First listen:
Now read:
E dimineaţă. E ora opt. Mama şi Ana sunt în bucătărie. Mama face cafeaua. Ana cântă. E primăvară. E luna martie. Cafeaua e gata. Ana pleacă la şcoală.
The translation into English:
It is morning. It is eight o’clock. Mother and Ana are in the kitchen. Mother is making the coffee. Ana is singing. It is spring. It is March. The coffee is ready. Ana is going to school.
As a rule, in spoken language (and even in the written language) we use the short form "e" instead of "este".
Homework:
Translate into Romanian:
It is morning. It is nine o’ clock. I am in the kitchen. I am making the coffee. I am singing. It is spring. It is April. The coffee is ready. I am going to school.
Note: As a rule, we do not use the personal pronouns with a verb. We say “lucrez” instead of “Eu lucrez”.
