Bucharest Village Museum

One of the most interesting places to visit in Bucharest is the Village Museum. Situated in the Herastrau Park, the Village Museum is one of the main attractions.

The best way to get here is to take the metro up to the station “Aviatorilor”. The ticket will cost 6 lei for an adult and it is valid the whole day.
Right beside the entrance is a store from where you can buy souvenirs, traditional art objects, pots and books related to the rural life in Romania.
The Village Museum is a beautiful collection of old houses from all the regions in Romania. Walking on the alleys you will be taken from one region to another, in the wonderful world of the rural Romania. It is an escape from the agitated life of an agglomerated city.
Usually three generations live together in the same house in the villages of Romania. Some of the old traditions are preserved even today in the rural Romania. The old pots you can see inside the houses in the museum exist even today in the peasants’ houses.
Let me now take you on a virtual tour in the beautiful Village Museum. I will show you a few of these old houses where a lot of generations lived.
